URTICA
Urtica dioica, often known as common nettle, burn nettle, stinging nettle or nettle leaf, or just a nettle or stinger, is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant in the family Urticaceae. Originally native to Europe, much of temperate Asia and western North Africa.
Due to its diuretic effect, nettle is recommended for inflammation of the urinary canals, to prevent the formation of stones and sand, as well as for an enlarged prostate to facilitate urination. Also, it is recommended for rheumatic diseases and gout, and due to the content of mineral substances as a means to strengthen the body and for anemia.
In folk medicine, it is also used for diabetes, to lower blood sugar levels, for spleen diseases and anemia, and mixed with honey, for lung diseases and tuberculosis. For external use, in the form of tea for rinsing, or water-alcohol extract for massaging the scalp, it is recommended as an anti-dandruff and anti-hair loss agent.
